Belize’s CXC results yet to be officially released

On Monday, the regional results for this year’s CSEC and CAPE examinations were released by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC). The council reported an increase in the overall performance of students who sat exams, despite the shift in education brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Here in the Jewel, the results of students who sat the exams are yet to be officially released. Today, the media asked Minister of Education, Francis Fonseca for his expectations of the performance of Belizean students.

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education: “We’ve always known that because of the two years being out of the classroom that that would have a negative impact on her students development and their educational growth so you know we are still as you pointed out we just got the results yesterday so the ministry is doing an internal assessment of those results and as soon as we’re done with that then we will put out a full release on that issue.”
