Belize’s Head of State, King Charles III, Diagnosed with Cancer

Buckingham Palace has announced that Belize’s head of state, King Charles III, has been diagnosed with cancer. Reports are that doctors discovered the cancer while the seventy-five-year-old monarch was receiving treatment for an enlarged prostate; however, he does not have prostate cancer. He received treatment at a private London hospital in late January. Buckingham Palace did not elaborate on the nature of his cancer but said that the King would postpone any public duties during his treatment, on the advice of his doctors. He will continue his other duties including paperwork and private meetings during his treatment. King Charles III, formerly The Prince of Wales, succeeds his mother Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022. He was coronated on May 6, 2023.
