The Belmopan City Council and grassroots organisation, Alliance Fidiyute are hosting a two-day workshop today and tomorrow in the capital for 25 high schoolers. The organisers say that the workshop will enrich these students with a variety of marketable skills and will feature topics such as: entrepreneurship, content creation, music business, website building, and will require that each student has access to a computer. Alliance Fidiyute are fully funding and facilitating this initiative. Their goal for this workshop and for any future projects is encapsulated in the acronym P.U.S.H: Promoting Unity, Solidarity and Humanity. This project and partnership are the start of an annual effort to positively impact young people in Belmopan by equipping them with valuable practical training that can be of immediate use. Along with providing the training sessions, the organisations have also pledged to provide each student with school bags filled with school supplies and 100-dollar scholarship grants, tools which will further empower and support these young people.
