There was a robbery in the Tiger Town section of the Capital today. Quick response from the police led to the recovery of the items stolen from “One on One” Grocery Store. Love News Belmopan correspondents Pauline Tillett and Oufemio Cruz reports on how the cops solved the crime.
Pauline Soberanis Tillet: “Based on the information received of an armed robbery in progress the quick response of the Belmopan Police led to the detention of two men and women. According to Police at 10:20 this morning they responded to Juan and Juan Grocery Store in the Tiger town area of Belmopan where the owner of the business Lang Yuhang Chen was held up at gunpoint and robbed of $1260 and 95 cents in Belize currency, three cell phones and other items. Love News spoke to a shaken Chen.”
Miss Chen: “He just came in like that and it was only one person as the others waited outside. He told me to put all the money in the bag.”
Fem Cruz: “Did he have a gun?”
Miss Chen: “He had a gun in his hand yes and he jumped the counter. He told me not to call the Police and if I did he would kill all of my family.”
Fem Cruz: “And they went with how much money?”
Miss Chen: “I’m not sure how much money and they took all of the change because we were only opened for two and half hours so I didn’t have much money in my drawer.”
Pauline Soberanis Tillet: “Police investigations continue. For Love News I am Pauline Soberanis Tillet Cayo Correspondent.”
The thieves are all in custody and the police recovered $1,260.95.
