Belmopan Initiates ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ Project: Mayor Cawich’s Environmental Agenda

Belmopan’s Mayor, Pablo Cawich met recently with representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).  The meeting’s primary focus was on initiatives related to education, the environment and waste disposal.  Love News understands that the council is now preparing to launch its, ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ project.  Mayor Cawich told us more. 

Pablo Cawich, Mayor, Belmopan City: “Most of the meetings that we’ve had are along the lines of how we can get assistance both in technical level and funding level by collaborating with these other countries and the embassies and also agencies that represent the different countries. So it has been basically discussions on how we can work together to achieve the safe development of Belmopan.”

JICA officials included Tachihara Yoshikazu, the Resident Representative; Namiki Ryo, Volunteer Coordinator, and Marvia C. Dubon, the Administrative Officer.
