Belmopan Mayor Delivers Land Titles to Past Queen of the Bay Representatives

Belmopan’s Mayor, Sheran Palacio, has delivered on a promise made back in 2018 to the city’s Queen of the Bay representatives.  The delivery of the parcels of land was done today, and saw past queens, namely, Jenny-Lee Cruz, Kiah Pastor, and Myra Sibrian, receive their land papers.  In her address to the three ladies, Mayor Palacio appealed to them to not sell the land, but rather to sue it for development and sustainability for their families.

Sheran “Sharon” Palacio, Mayor of Belmopan City: “Well I must congratulate all girls first and foremost. From the moment I got on that desk they kept on hammering at their pageant, a gift was promised to them in the form of land so I kept them in mind knowing that I want to help them. It took some time to get where we’re at because getting the InovoBel, getting the hundred acres, InovoBel is a reality now I must say and these girls had patience so we have to congratulate them and finally our final approval came in and they’re the first to benefit from the hundred acres.”

Reporter: Do you know why these works took so long because they were promised these lands even before you were in office so what was the hold up for them ?

Sheran “Sharon” Palacio, Mayor of Belmopan City: “I really wouldn’t know. I really wouldn’t know. I think sometimes prizes are given without really and truly studying how the process is involved in getting it done. It really takes passion, interest and more so these young ladies from their side they were not gonna let me loose and the moment they kept on hearing that I’m not seeking reelection they more they kept on hammering they wanted it to happen under my watch and I’m so proud and I’ll be giving them their titles sometime next week.”

Reporter: So then I know that three former Queens were helped today but there are other queens who may be in the same predicament. Do you plan on helping them as well ?

Sheran “Sharon” Palacio, Mayor of Belmopan City: “Not necessarily because it comes with what was promised to them as a gift their prize, their first prize was land. Some of them it was Bachelor degree and I’m not negating I don’t know who all these queens are but definitely –  I won’t even invite them to an interview because InovoBel lands pass heaven we have too many.”

The land parcels are located in the Inovabel Residential Development area in Belmopan.
