Belmopan Mayor Makes Bold Statements on Social Media and Political Landscape

Belmopan’s Mayor, Sheran Palacio, has made incredible statements on her time in office and the political landscape, and players in the capital city.  In her exclusive interview with Plus TV, Mayor Palacio has accused several public persons of speaking against her on social media.  She has additionally, gloated that some of her current councilors had lost in the recent PUP convention.  Based on Palacio’s rant on social media in recent weeks, it comes as no surprise that Mayor Palacio, made the comments.

Sheran “Sharon” Palacio, Mayor of Belmopan: “I am very pleased to have Pablo as the winner and as everybody knows I’ve had a rough time with my councilors and God did a wonderful job so I’m very very excited. I am pleased and me stepping away I had it properly planned because conventions you cannot say because you’re doing a wonderful job or because you’re doing a horrible job that you’re gonna win. Conventions is a science. It comes with a machinery and it comes with money and I had to step away because I wasn’t given a fair – I can say it was very unfair because the time that they wanted me to contest I would have had like six days as opposed to my opponents they had the entire year they’ve been hungry for it. So I decided you know sometimes victory is in apparent defeat and I just decided to slide away and leave it for the two contestants, the two gentlemen and of course I wanted Cawich to win and I sent my people out there to support Cawich.”

Mayor Palacio furthered her comments, saying that, initially, she was only interested in serving one term.  Down the road, however, she wanted more time, but she was rejected.

Sheran “Sharon” Palacio, Mayor of Belmopan: “I came here wanting only one term, that was my desire because in my mind when you want to change things you cannot be there making noise at the side you have to get involved so I got involved and my thing was one term. But that one term I quickly realized that to complete the mission I would have needed more time and definitely I would have been happy to continue to be able to finish the job but I can safely say I was denied that opportunity. All these men across the country almost eight of them or seven of them or six of them but the vast majority were endorsed and the one woman it’s a joke and as far as I’m concerned I deserved to be endorsed hence the reason I stepped away because I should have been endorsed.”
