Belmopan to host their first Jouvert; Drops Traditional 10th of September Celebrations

The City of Belmopan has released its September Celebrations Schedule and things have changed under the new council. This is the first year the council will not be having any 10th of September celebrations but there will be an addition of the first-ever Belmopan Jouvert. Pablo Cawich, Mayor of the City of Belmopan, spoke to Love news about the council’s efforts in changing the reputation of the city.

The council has come under much criticism for not hosting a 10th-day event, in addition, there was no official Queen of the Bay competition and a delegate was simply chosen. The mayor cleared up all rumors surrounding the allegations and simply attributed it to unpreparedness for this year.

The council plans to make improvements and adjustments to create events that best cater to the city.
