In preparation for upcoming projects, representatives from Belize Trade and Investment Development Service BELTRAIDE, traveled to Costa Rica this week for knowledge exchange sessions. The BELTRAIDE delegation met with representatives of the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promotion Agency (PROCOMER) for two days of discussions on their Single Investment Window (SIW) system. Jalen Avila, Acting Manager of Belize Invest a unit of BELTTRAIDE, explained that the exchange is a pivotal part of the broader Trade and Investment Facilitation Project, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Avila was joined by Danielson Correa, Senior I.T. Officer, and Senior Projects Officer Wendy Hernandez. He added that, since the suite of entities involved in doing business will be hosted on one platform, improving IT capacity will be necessary.
