Personnel from the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) visited Buena Vista Village in the Corozal District, conducting free registration for small businesses. The business registration drive forms part of activities under the Livelihood Capacity Development Strategy and Action Plan. This project, a collaborative effort between BELTRAIDE and the Social Investment Fund (SIF), is aimed at supporting small business owners in several villages along the Remate Bypass area. Marty Lopez, a Business Advisor, with BELTRAIDE’S Small Business Development Center (SBDC), says that the project is to help the businesses better their operations given the potential for increase following the recent upgrade of the Remate Bypass. Lopez said business registration is one of three components of the project.

Other villages that have benefitted from free business registration drives include Chan Chen, Patchacan, Cristo Rey, and Louisville.
