A teacher from Grace Primary School and more than 30 students were treated to classroom makeover courtesy of Benny’s. Over the summer holiday, Benny’s held a classroom makeover contest for followers on social media as a way to give back to the community. Standard 2 teacher Kenisha Rhaburn was the lucky winner of the competition and saw her classroom transformed for the new school year by a team of Benny’s staff. Ellen Borland, Marketing and PR Officer for Benny’s, gave us a breakdown of what Rhaburn received through the initiative.
Rhaburn told Love News that winning the competition was a major help to herself, her students and the school. She says that in her 17 years of teaching, she has found that decorating a classroom can be expensive.
The makeover is said to have cost several thousand dollars between the materials and service. Benny’s says that, following the success of this pilot project, the classroom makeover will be an annual activity.
