20-year-old Elisha Buller has avoided prison time after reaching a plea agreement with his uncle, Jason Reneau, whom he blackmailed. Buller was ordered to pay Reneau $12,000 in weekly installments of $50. The agreement, sanctioned by Justice Pilgrim, also stipulates that Buller must have no contact with his uncle or his family. As part of the plea, Buller delivered a written apology in court this morning, stating, “I acknowledge the wrong I have committed to Mr. Jason Reneau and the distress that I have caused him due to my action. I sincerely apologize to him, his wife and our family. I am truly sorry for the pain I have caused.” According to court facts, on July 7 2023, Reneau and his wife, Sheila, reported that Buller threatened to kill them and their daughter if Reneau did not pay him $2,000. The threat was repeated the following day. Due to the family relationship and the terms of the plea bargain, a custodial sentence was deemed unnecessary for Buller.
