Despite being on break, the case of Damion Blake was heard in the Belize High Court before Justice Candice Newton. Blake, who has been on remand for the killing of Dijon Foreman, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter. He was reportedly advised by his attorney, Senior Counsel Simeon Sampson. The prosecution, represented by Porsha Staine, had no objection to the plea based on the Blake’s statement that the killing was the result of a fight with Foreman. Blake is to return to court on September 11 where the new indictment for manslaughter will be read to him. This will be followed by another hearing on October 7 when the plea will be entered, and will be followed by sentencing. The incident of this case dates back to March 4, 2022 when 27-year-old, Dijon Foreman was found with multiple gunshot wounds in Blake’s yard in Ladyville, Belize District. Police responded to a call from Blake who had reported that he had just been shot. He was subsequently charged with murder.
