Earlier in the news we told you about the blockages of roads and highways by the teachers this morning in various parts of the country. Today, police had to make a number of arrests in connection with the strike action. Correspondent Moises Martinez spoke to BNTU Benque Branch president Bay Rivas.
Francis Salam and Roberto Valencia, teachers of Mount Carmel Primary School, were charged for attempting to set a bonfire without the permission of Police. However, they were later released on bail. They are to appear in Court tomorrow at nine. Meanwhile the other two, Amilcar Vasquez and Robelvi Velasquez were released without charges. Rivas announced that attorney Darrell Bradley has offered to defend the teachers.
