Boledo Sales to Bolster Belize Health System: PM Briceno Forecasts $70M Revenue Boost

The Government of Belize is expecting to collect an estimated seventy million dollars from the yearly Boledo sales. Since the game returned in December, the government has been able to generate a significant profit from the game, which has contributed to the expansion of the National Health Insurance Scheme. Prime Minister who also serves as the Minister of Finance, John Briceno spoke about the projected revenues, and how it will be used to uplift the Belizean people.

Hon. John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: ” I don’t have the numbers at hand but what I can tell you from what we’ve seen – okay I’ve gotten it but I don’t have the latest numbers but from what we’re looking at we are going to exceed over $70 million dollars in sales in one year. If you remember previously they were reporting eighteen and nineteen million and twenty million we’re exceeding over seventy million dollars. That is what the former Prime Minister should be talking about. Well what will happen is that at the end of the financial year then that monies are going to be allocated as we said to the public, we discussed in Cabinet, that most of the money we want to put it into the National Health Insurance and also to the charities program and some for sports.”

Last year, the Briceno Administration canceled the exclusive license that was held by Brads Gaming Group due to breaches of the license regulations.
