Brazen Daylight Robbery Hits Chinese Store in Belize City

There was a brazen daylight robbery of a Chinese store on the south side of Belize City this afternoon. Police say that shortly after midday the two men, one armed with a silver pistol ran into R & I Shop on Faber’s Road Extension. The owner, 56-year-old Yue Shao Raun, said that the men went behind the cashier and robbed her of a thousand dollars in cash. The men also stole cellphones, jewelry, and other items, which had a combined value of over four thousand, three hundred dollars before making their escape. No one was hurt during the incident. Police are investigating.
