Bryan Jerry Castillo, wanted for the murder of 33-year-old, Jennifer Archila and her 12-year-old daughter, Nitzia Catzim was found in San Benito, Peten, Guatemala earlier today. Love News understands that Castillo was captured just after five o’clock this evening. Las Noticias de Mundo Peten went live on social media and spoke with Luis Burgos, the Governor of Petén explained how the capture was carried out.
Luis Burgos, Governor of Peten: “We are very happy, very pleased by the work done by the authorities in Peten after having information that the man accused of killing his family in neighboring Belize is in the jurisdiction of Peten. The police followed up on the information and were able to neutralize him inside a house and was immediately taken to the National Civil Police Facility at the San Benito Substation and we are working on the coordination of his capture to hand him over to our neighboring country Belize.”
Brian Jerry Castillo: “It’s not true. We were drunk. She pulled out a knife, I had to defend myself. She placed a knife to my son’s throat and I wanted to defend him. He’s my blood and I had to defend him. We were both drunk. Yes I did because she was holding a knife to my son’s throat. I had to defend him.”
Castillo has been on the run since Sunday night when he stabbed both victims to death inside their apartment on Zericote Street, San Ignacio Town, Cayo District.
