A mother of eight is struggling to make ends meet since one of her sons was left paralyzed following a brutal attack on his life. As you may recall, 35-year-old Brian Harris was walking through a pecado road in Hattieville Village when he was shot five times on December 15. He was shot on Sunday night and was found on Monday morning by the villagers. 55-year-old Daisy Mckenzie, the mother of Harris is now obligated to take care of her son. She is pleading for assistance to write off his medical expenses.
Daisy McKenzie, Mother: “From that time till now he is paralyzed from the waist down, can’t walk so it’s like I have a 37-year-old baby again. He has one in the spine, one in the elbow broke through the elbow so he was in cast and he got that off the day before yesterday and then he has the rest in the back and one was in the neck so it’s like five shots. He said it was dark in the Pecado Road and he got shot backway so he doesn’t have any idea who did it. Right now we are planning a dinner sale, a turkey dinner sale on the 14th of February so we would like for the public if they could assist us with whatever they can I am making out a paper to go around for donation, I’m making tickets for the dinner so whatever help they can help we’ll really appreciate it because then it has to be therapy two times a week, then we have to pay taxi go and come, taxi go and come for two times a week, then we have pampers, to get wipes, all these things like a baby all over, medication, all of that so anything would be helpful.”
She will be having fundraisers; you can contact her at 669-0012. The night prior to Harris’s attack 33-year-old Phillip Roberts was killed in the same vicinity where Harris was shot.
