Briceno Administration’s Education Upliftment Project to Benefit Hundreds of Students in 2024

In 2024, hundreds of students from a dozen secondary schools across the country will be benefiting from the Briceno Administration’s Education Upliftment Project. The rolling out of the project will students being provided with fully paid tuition and fees, uniforms for first-form, and a healthy meal daily. The announcement came after this week’s Cabinet meeting where they discussed ways to transform and grow the economy, with a focus on strengthening the primary and secondary school levels. Also tabled in the Cabinet meeting was the approval of a revised regulatory framework for Belize’s broadcasting industry.  The initial approach for this will be the development of a modernized National Broadcasting Policy.  Additionally, Cabinet gave its approval for the Belize Port Authority to update the relevant regulations for fees related to vessel licensing and light.  This will reportedly be done to strengthen maritime safety and security by Belize’s international obligations.
