Briceno on the road to recovery after RTA

Leader of the Opposition, John Briceno is making a sound recovery after being involved in a road traffic incident on Friday, August 2 on the Philip Goldson Highway.  Today, Briceno issued an address of gratitude, thanking the citizens who expressed concern over his well-being.

John Briceno – Leader of the Opposition: “Hi everybody just wanted to once again express how grateful I am for all your prayers, concerns and kind words of support for me and my family. I am happy to say that my health condition has improved to the extent that my doctors are allowing me to do limited work from home. Most of the cuts and bruises are cleared up and the head injury is improving at a satisfactory rate so I can now get back to some work from home. Few people who are involved in an accident like mine are able to walk away from it as Edwin and I did so I give thanks to our creator and our fine Belizean Doctors and nurses. Like most things in life there are lessons to be learned, for me that lesson is the message for this week. Drive carefully and please always wear your seatbelt. I will be back to work soon but when I think about how many Belizeans have lost their lives to traffic fatalities in the month of August alone it makes this message even more important. Let us work together, to practice safe driving which starts with wearing your seatbelt and driving within the speed limit so thanks to everyone and have a great week.”

Briceno was in his blue Toyota Prado, driven at the time by Edwin Hill.  Hill escaped with minor bruises and abrasions.
