The 2024-2025 academic year is already underway, but some students are still in need of school supplies and other essentials. To help address that need, the non-profit organization Belizean Roots Inspiring Diaspora Growth Everywhere (BRIDGE 501), is hosting a series of donations of school bags and school supplies. The first distribution was held on Friday to six schools in the Orange Walk district. Bags with school supplies were distributed to students from Indian Church Government School, Fire Burn RC School, San Carlos Government School, San Luis RC School, St. Peter’s Anglican School, and Louisiana Government School. The donations were made in collaboration with the Optimist 501 Club International and the Rotary Club of Belmopan. Calvin Neal, co-founder of BRIDGE 501 said that the organization hopes to help build a better Belize by providing youths the essentials to support their education.
BRIDGE 501 is expected to distribute more bags and supplies this week to schools in Belize City and Punta Gorda Town.
