Brok Maka Chista Inspires Cultural Dance Initiative at Bliss Center

Brok Maka Chista, a traditional Kriol ring game played in Belize, is the inspiration for the Institute of Creative Art’s new dance initiative being launched this weekend. The ICA is hosting two shows at the Bliss Center for Performing Arts on Friday and Saturday, to kick off the new initiative, which will promote the development of cultural dances in Belize. Kim Vasquez, Director of the ICA, says that the initiative will also help to generate income to assist with the programs at the Bliss.

Vasquez said that the shows promise something for everyone, as a wide range of dances will be taking the stage.

The shows will also feature performances by the Belize Dance Company.
