Brutal Machete Attack Claims Life in Cayo: Investigators Probe Grisly Murder

Investigators out west are probing into a grisly murder that claimed the life of a 44-year-old man in the Cayo District. In the early hours of this morning, Luis Siapas, was at a bar in Saint Margaret’s Village socializing which is where he met a brutal demise.  At around two o’clock, whilst inside La Rumba Restaurant and Bar, three men reportedly entered the establishment and attacked Siapas who was seated around the counter. The attack was vicious as one of the assailants pulled out a machete and partially decapitated Siapas. According to investigators when they arrived at the location, some 32 miles on the Hummingbird Highway, Siapas was covered in blood, lying motionless under a pool table with chop wounds to the face, neck, and shoulders. Love News spoke to his wife, Calan Aharo, who was taken aback by the news, saying that Siapas was not known to get into problems.

Calan Aharo, Wife of Deceased: “Around 1:30 a neighbor told us that my husband was injured in that restaurant and my oldest son arrived and he was still alive. No he was just talking to the lady it seems from the bar but it wasn’t. There was no fight. Everything was calm. Well I couldn’t give you much of an explanation because I could only tell you when my kid arrived. He was already there, we don’t know the rest.”

Police have not detained any suspects for this recent homicide.
