BTB Love Belize Sea challenge – an adventure like no other

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) and Love FM are teaming up to bring you the first ever BTB Love Belize Sea Challenge, which is set to commence tomorrow.  This kayak race will have paddlers going from Punta Gorda to Corozal. It is expected to be an adventure like no other.  Love News spoke with RSV’s CEO, Dr. Rene Villanueva Sr. about the five-day event.

It promises to be a grueling five-day adventurous extreme challenge covering over two-hundred and eighteen miles. There are three categories, male, female and mixed. Villanueva said that the mission is to explore the rich culture Belize has to offer.

BTB says such a race has the possibility of taking tourism to the next level since it will appeal to tourists who consider themselves to be paddlers and kayakers. It will also help to create environmental awareness with paddlers and fans on the significance of protecting Belize’s natural and cultural resources.  Additionally, it will give paddlers and kayakers an opportunity to see Belize up close and experience the rich culture. Paddlers can win up to thirty thousand dollars in cash and additional prizes. Today is the last day for registration and persons have until seven o’clock this evening to register. The BTB Love Belize Sea Challenge will be broadcast live on Love FM, Estereo Amor and Love TV with a joint BTB/Love FM broadcast team.
