The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has announced the winners of the Essential Workers Competition, part of the Belize Travelers Campaign. The primary focus of the competition was to recognize dedicated and hardworking essential workers who have gone beyond the call of duty to serve Belize during the fight against COVID-19. A total of eight nominees were made by the Belize Police Department and the Ministry of Health. The competition ran from July 23 to August 5 and over 6,000 votes were registered. The winners were Dr. Javier Canul, Lorna Perez from the Ministry of Health, Stephanie Marie Patten from the Belize Police Department, and Roger Augustine from the Belize Police Department.  Love News spoke with Jocelle Campbell Stephen, the Marketing and Industry Relations Manager for the BTB who told us a little bit of who the contestants were and what they did.

Each winner was awarded a Belize Staycation Prize Package, including a cash prize courtesy the BTB staff.
