A burglar caught red handed got more than he bargained for when he was accosted and chopped. 28-year-old Nassin Cantun burglarized a home in Orange Walk and was caught by the homeowner at around six o’clock on Saturday night. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvette, the chopping victim is still hospitalized in a stable condition.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch: “What the police know so far is that one Nassim Cantun, 28 years of a Trinidad Village address had entered his home some time shortly after 6pm where he encountered Mr.Eck inside his home and a struggle ensued which resulted in him inflicting those injuries to Mr.Eck. Also he observed that a number of this items and tools were missing from his home which was later recovered somewhere just behind the yard. So police are investigating this matter.”
