Burrell Boom resident dies in motorcycle accident on Philip Goldson Highway

A Burrell Boom resident died early this morning after experiencing a tire blowout on the Philip Goldson Highway.  32-year-old, Leonel Armando Cabanas was driving home on his motorcycle just before three o’clock this morning when the tire gave way between miles 13 and 14 causing him to lose control, and subsequently flung from the bike.  The ambulance was called to the scene, where they found Cabanas unresponsive bearing no vital signs. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero, shared additional details.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “Around 2:30 AM police visited an area between mile 10 and 11 on the highway where they found a motorcycle with damages and near to the motorcycle was a male person who was identified as Leonel Cabanas. Information is that he lost control of the motorcycle and he fell of his motorcycle and he received serious injuries. He was taken to the KHMH where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”

Cabanas was a father of two.
