Butane Price Hike Hits Consumers Amid Rising Acquisition Costs
The price of butane will see an increase of thirty-three cents starting today. The Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise issued a statement yesterday, attributing the increase to higher acquisition costs for butane and propane. The new import wholesale price countrywide is four dollars and thirteen cents. The new price per pound in urban areas is a dollar and thirty-one cents, while the price per gallon is five dollars and seventy-three cents. Meanwhile, in rural areas, the new price per pound is set at a dollar and thirty-eight cents, and the new price per gallon is five dollars and eighty-three cents.
