Butane Prices Adjust for 14th Time This Year

Belize is seeing the 14th price adjustment for this year for butane.  The prices for butane have fluctuated over the past eleven months.  Tonight, the per gallon price for Belize City stands at five dollars and sixty four cents, reflecting a slight increase of three cents.  Our records show that the highest cost of butane was reflected in March when the per-gallon price was five dollars and seventy five cents. With this recent increase, the wholesale price countrywide is four dollars and four cents per gallon while the retail price in rural areas is one dollar and thirty one cents per pound or five dollars and seventy four cents per gallon. According to the Supplies Control Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, the increase is a result of increased shipping costs.
