Butane Prices Decrease Slightly in Latest Adjustment, 15th Change This Year

Belize is seeing the 15th price adjustment for butane this year. The prices for butane have fluctuated over the past eleven months, and the latest took effect as of midnight last night. The latest adjustment sees a slight decrease of eight cents.  With the latest decrease, the wholesale price countrywide is three dollars and ninety-six cents while the retail price in rural areas is one dollar and twenty-seven cents per pound or five dollars and sixty-six cents per gallon. The retail new price in urban areas is a dollar and twenty-seven cents per pound, and five dollars, fifty-six cents per gallon. According to the Supplies Control Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, the adjustment is a result of reduced shipping costs. Our records show that the highest cost of butane was reflected in March when the per-gallon price was five dollars and seventy-five cents.
