Cabinet has approved a comprehensive Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy for the Public Service. The policy outlines who it applies to, clearly defines what constitutes workplace sexual harassment, and establishes a formal complaints and internal resolution process. It also details disciplinary measures and other enforcement considerations. Government says the measure strengthens the implementation of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 2024 and reinforces protections for public officers. Cabinet has also approved a project by the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy and Logistics in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank to implement the Least Cost Rural Electrification Plan. The initiative will identify and prioritize affordable electrification solutions for rural communities through grid expansion, renewable-energy mini-grids and standalone systems. It is an exercise that aimed at achieving universal access to electricity for its citizens.
