Cabinet Meets to Address Maya Land Rights in Special Session

Cabinet continues to meet at this hour out west in a special session that will see the issues surrounding Maya land rights thoroughly ventilated. Love News understands that the aim of the meeting is for each minister to understand the full meaning of the court judgment, as well as the history of the Maya Customary Land Tenure Policy. Several experts have been invited to give presentations on the matter, allowing the ministers to field questions on the issue. According to the Government of Belize, it is more important now than ever to ensure that everyone is on the same page, in order to make decisions that will unite, rather than divide.
