Can Commissioner Rosado Make a Comeback ? Leader of the Opposition, Tracy Panton, Weighs In

Another national matter that the Opposition Leader weighed in on is the role of Dr. Richard Rosado as the Police Commissioner.  With the commissioner currently on 45 days’ leave, at the directive of the Prime Minister, the question up in the air is whether he will ever be reinstated.  Love News asked LOTO Panton whether she feels that Dr. Rosado could make a comeback. here is how she responded.

Reporter: Do you feel  he can be reinstated with the confidence of the people?

Tracy Panton, Leader of the Opposition: “Absolutely not. Absolutely not. The  commissioner of police ought to be fired. The commissioner of police or anybody in the police department or anybody in the ministry responsible for the police department should not be involved in the investigation in this matter. Something is not right, it does not add up. It is unacceptable. It is illegal and it puts our  sovereignty, our very sovereignty at jeopardy and in peril. It’s a serious black eye for our country post our independence history.”

The decision to place Dr. Rosado on leave ties into the controversy surrounding the alleged abduction of Ryan Joseph Budna. Deputy Commissioner Suzette Anderson has been tasked with completing the investigation into the Budna case, with the goal of delivering a full report by the end of September.  Deputy Commissioner Bart Jones has been appointed as Acting Commissioner of Police during Rosado’s leave.
