Carib Reserve Road Nearing Completion: Mayor Anticipates Access Improvements

The Carib Reserve Road in Punta Gorda is almost completed and will see the road being used as the alternate route to access the town proper.  Works are currently underway on the diversion road as well as in the area of the Joe Taylor Bridge.  Mayor Carlos Galvez is anticipating that the pedestrian crossing at the Joe Taylor Bridge should be in place by the end of the month.  He emphasized that the crossing would be for small vehicles while the larger trucks would be required to use the alternate road.

Mayor Galvez told Love News that the entire project is a double home-run as it is providing an alternate road that will continue being useful even after the installation of the new bridge.

The replacement of the Joe Taylor Bridge will take an estimated 12 months.
