26-year-old Wasani Castro, a cyclist and the son of Minister Edmond Castro, found himself in trouble with the law again when he was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer today.  Chief Magistrate Frazer read three charges to Castro namely, using obscene language, assaulting a female police officer, Irma Anderson and resisting arrest.  Castro pleaded not guilty to the charges and was offered bail in the sum of six hundred dollars plus one surety. According to court documents, on November 16, 2019, Castro assaulted the police officer while she was executing her duties on Caesar Ridge Road in Belize City. Castro is being represented by Attorney Orson OJ Elrington. Castro is to reappear in court on January 20, 2020. Castro is no stranger to the law as he and his brother Jafari were caught with 89 cases of contraband beer valued at six thousand dollars in June 2017. In that case, the matter was settled out of court with the Customs Department.
