Catholic Church ordains two new priests in Belize

The Catholic Church in Belize has ordained two new priests to join their religious community.  Reverend Father Shajir Pech and Reverend Father Emmanuel Medina officially joined the priesthood on Saturday.  An ordination of the two deacons was presided over by the Most Reverend Bishop Lawrence Nicasio at the Holy Redeemer Cathedral.  Father Pech was born in Louisville, Corozal District.  In 2015, he joined Saint Benedict Seminary in Santa Elena, Cayo District.  Two years later he was sent to the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. In 2019, he graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor’s in Philosophy, Humanities, and Social Sciences.  On May 13, 2023, he graduated with a Master’s in the Arts of Theology and a Master’s in Divinity from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary and a Sacred Theology Bachelor’s degree (S.T.B.) from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.  Meanwhile, Father Medina was born in August Pine Ridge, Orange Walk District.  He performed his first mass at this morning at the Muffles Auditorium in Orange Walk.
