Caye Caulker Preps for Lobster Fest

Meanwhile, the Caye Caulker Village Council is preparing for Lobster Fest. One of the island’s signature events is returning this summer after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. This annual event is one of their main crowd-pullers, as it attracts both local and international lobster lovers. Caye Caulker Chairlady, Seleny Villanueva Pott says that it almost didn’t happen as this year’s event will not be able to be as grand as it normally is. However, she believes the fest will be just as enjoyable.

Seleny Villanueva Pott, Chairlady, Caye Caulker Village Council: “There were talking and they were being discouraged you know not wanting to have one and we reached out and the Belize Hotel Association reached out and said you know what this is an excellent rebound strategy we must have one. We’re very grateful that the Lobster Fest committee agreed to have one and the plans are well underway. We did not get any international entertainment this year. We stuck with local which is an excellent thing we can’t promote our local Belizean artists, local Belizean band. I believe it will be just as good a Lobster Fest as any other one so the excitement is in the air and we’re looking forward to it.”

Lobster Fest 2022 will be held July 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
