The students at Caye Caulker Roman Catholic Primary School have reverted to home-schooling after three teachers tested positive for Covid-19. The school had reopened some weeks ago, but was forced to notify parents of its decision to go back to using school packages. According to the letter issued to parents, the advice to shut down came from the Ministry of Health. The note reads, in part, quote, “We had trully wanted to start working with our children face to face but due to the spike of Covid-19 cases on our island right now, this is impossible.” End of quote. Love News understands that there will be no online classes and that they will only be using packages with specific dates and times for pick-ups and drop-offs. We sought to get comment from the school’s Principal, Beatriz Chan, but we were told that she too has been tested positive.
