Cayo family claims they are victims of arson

A family in western Belize lost their home to a fire.  According to one of the victims, they believe it was a case of arson. Cayo correspondent Fem Cruz has the details.

A family in western Belize lost their home to a fire.  According to one of the victims, they believe it was a case of arson. Cayo correspondent Fem Cruz has the details.

Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: A house fire sometime around twelve thirty on Sunday afternoon at Costa Rica Extension, Salvapan Belmopan left 23-year-old Brenda Gomez and her husband homeless. With the assistance of an interpreter Brenda spoke to Love News.

Interpreter: “She says that she was at the shop using the wifi suddenly somebody came running to tell her that their house was on fire so they immediately left the shop and ran over to their house where they saw the two little structures, the first structure on the right was already engulfed and they managed to secure some of the other stuff from the other little house that had stove and other small stuff inside so they managed to take those out but it was already too late, they lost everything. They had about a thousand and change in cash and they bought a lot of gifts and things they were going to take to their parents and everything was in the total of about two thousand and change and they lost everything completely because of the fire.
