Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: Roaring Creek police are looking for two suspects in connection with Saturday night’s chopping incident in the Young Bank area of Camalote Village that left 36 year old Jose Alberto Gonzales of the said area in a critical condition. Love News understands that Gonzales was found some time around 10:15 that same night on the ground bleeding profusely with multiple chop wounds to the body. He was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital by police mobile and later transferred to the KHMH. Love News spoke to the sister of the victim.
Sister of the victim: “On Saturday night I heard my brother was coming and shouting and saying that two guys were following him, that one was my cousin Giovanni and the other one was Michael. So he managed to go in my mom’s home and he told my mom to give him a machete because they were going to kill him but my mom didn’t give him anything and then he managed to go to his room and after he was going to his room we didn’t imagine what was happening but my mom and my dad heard a noise outside and both of them rushed outside and when they saw both of the two persons were chopping him up with machete. My dad managed – he couldn’t go in the home and get a machete too but he held two rocks and stoned both of them but my cousin was the first one that went running and the other one my dad hit him with a stone but they couldn’t do anything more because we tried to see what to do with my brother. Then the police came and they took him to the hospital and then took him to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is fighting for his life now.”
