A man died in a road traffic incident in western Belize on Saturday night. Police say that around eleven-twenty, 39-year-old, Josue Ramos and Elsie Bardalez were traveling on a motorcycle from the direction of St. Matthews Village towards Belmopan City when tragedy struck. According to the Police Department’s PR officer, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Ramos died on impact.
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Public Relations, Belize Police Department: “I know that it was a man driving his motorbike from the direction of Saint Matthew’s village towards Belmopan and upon reaching in Cotton Tree Village lost control of his cycle. He was flung from that cycle, received serious head and body injuries and died on the spot. His name is Josue Ramos 38 years. Like I said that’s all the information that was sent to me that he lost control of the cycle, fell to the pavement, received injuries and died.”
Bardalez received injuries to her knees and wrist. She was later transported to the Western Regional Hospital for medical treatment for bruises and scrapes she received.
