Cayo Man Escapes Shooting, Wife Grazed in Attack

A man from the Cayo District was targeted last night in a shooting incident. Around 6 o’clock, 47-year-old Richard Williams was at home in Cotton Tree Village when a man approached him with a machete.  Williams argued with the man, who then went to look for his two brothers. Upon returning, one of the men then pulled out a pistol and opened fire, but Williams managed to escape unharmed. Unfortunately, his wife, Silvia Williams, who was inside the house, was grazed. Police in the area responded to the incident and attempted to pursue the men, but they escaped. Officers canvassed the area and located several expended shells.
