Police are also investigating the circumstances that led to the death of Michael Spain-Brown, a forty-six-year-old man of Georgeville Village, Cayo District. Brown’s corpse was found partially decomposed inside his home this morning by his brother, David McDougall. He spoke to Love News.
David McDougal, Michel Spain’s Brother: “My grandmother called me Sunday night informing me that she did not see my brother Brown for two days. I was to go and check last night but because of hard rain and curfew time coming so I left it until this morning. At around seven I went there. When I went there by the door I saw a lot of flies so I immediately called the police in San Ignacio, the female told me she already got in touch with PC Smith who will be arriving at the residence. PC Smith then arrived at the residence. When PC Smith arrived at the residence he instructed me to break the door, I broke the door down. When I got in there I found my brother in a sofa set lying back apparently dead. So I then went inside PC Smith then got in touch with the scenes of crime who came to the house and from there we removed Brown from the chair and put him in the body bag. Before the police looked at him and said they didn’t see any sign of foul play. Then we took him from off the chair and put him in the body bag, placed him inside the back of the police vehicle and they said they would take him to Belize City at the morgue.”
Brown was employed on a farm at the time of his death. The family has called upon police to carry out a proper investigation.
