Two men, Reynaldo Vellos and Hector Sanchez are facing charges for immigration offenses after they were found transporting eighteen undocumented Honduran nationals. The story had come to the media’s attention on Tuesday but the details were yet to be confirmed. Our newsroom has verified, however, that there are two Belmopan residents involved and that immigration has completed their investigations into the matter. Charges are to be laid sometime today therefore we are withholding the names until the Police completes the charge sheet. Preliminary information is that Police had intercepted two vehicles on the Bullet Tree Road carrying the eighteen undocumented migrants including nine children and nine adults. All twenty persons were detained and swabbed for Covid-19 and then processed. We will have more on this story in our evening news.
