Fifteen members of the Belize City Emergency Operations (CEMO) along with staff and shelter managers participated in a Shelter Management Training as part of preparations for the upcoming hurricane season. Through this initiative, the participants are expected to be better equipped with the knowledge and skills required to maintain shelter structure in the event of a natural disaster. Love News spoke with CEMO Liaison Officer of the Belize City Council, Melonie Dawson, who explained how this will assist the staff on being better prepared for any emergency.
Belize City Council stated that it is constantly working toward the safety and preparedness of our entire municipality ahead of the hurricane season.
