CEMO urges vigilant as heavy rain forecasted

The Belize City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) is calling on Belizeans in flood-prone areas to be vigilant over the next few days, as weather forecasters are predicting heavy rain. CEMO issued a public notice today warning that a low-pressure system in the southwestern Caribbean Sea is causing showers and thunderstorms to become more organized. CEMO added that whether the system develops into a tropical depression or not, Belize is among the nations forecasted to see an inch of rainfall between Monday and Tuesday. Belize is also expected to see between one and three inches of rainfall between Wednesday and Thursday. The organization urges city residents to review their preparedness plans and keep in tune with official information from the National Meteorological Service and the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO).
