The Belize Defence Force has nighttime equipment, according to CEO in the Ministry of National Security, George Lovell. The media got a chance this weekend to speak with him about the tragic incident that took the lives of four BDF soldiers back in February. While the BDF does lack necessary resources, he stated that they have what they need to complete various missions.
The four soldiers, Majors Adran Ramirez and Radford Baizer, and Corporals Yassir Mendez and Reynaldo Choco, were killed after their helicopter went down during the early hours of February 27. Adverse weather conditions and a lack of nighttime equipment were considered as being responsible for the crash.
