Queen of the Bay 2023-2024 has been stripped of her title and her crown after she went against several portions of her contract. Although 20-year-old, Kendall Morgan would have been handing over her crown later this month to a new queen, her behavior in the public domain and complaints submitted to the committee over the past year have led to this decision. The decision was announced today and comes out of a meeting held between the Association of former Queens of the Bay and National Queen of the Bay Committee. The organizations issued a joint statement, explaining that Morgan had violated Sections 5, 10, 11, 12, and 13 of the contract she signed after being crowned. These infractions include alleged incidents of cyberbullying and posting on social media which had a demeaning effect on the title. The organizations say that Morgan was warned verbally and in writing, and Morgan was even offered professional assistance to help her maintain the crown. With Morgan being stripped of the crown, the title now passes to Keely Faux, who was the first runner-up at last year’s pageant. The media asked Minister Francis Fonseca, Chair of the NCC, about the situation, but he was not too familiar with the developments.

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs: “First I’m hearing of it. I don’t know yeah I’m not aware of that. I really don’t follow to be honest I don’t even know who is the Queen of the Bay unfortunately. They run their own show, we provide some support to them but I don’t know.”
One instance of Morgan’s violation was a rant she launched on Facebook after the National Celebrations Committee (NCC) used the photo of a past queen in this year’s celebrations calendar instead of hers. However, the committee says it was not the first time the 20-year-old Morgan had been involved in controversy. They say Morgan had been warned on multiple occasions of bullying, cyberbullying, and disrespectful behavior, but she continued to engage in distasteful conduct. Morgan has been replaced by last year’s first runner-up Keely Faux. Notably, Morgan retained the prizes she won, which included a parcel of land and a scholarship.
