Charges Dropped Against BDF Soldier Accused of Assaulting Wife

All charges were dropped against a Belize Defense Force soldier after allegedly assaulting his wife. Forty-one-year-old Luke Evangelist Floresa pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate Court to allegations of being in a domestic dispute with his common-law wife, Flores Harm Sheree Robateau.  The incident happened on May fourteenth and yesterday in court, Robateau took the stand and requested that no further court actions be taken against her husband. She was asked if she was being forced or threatened to withdraw her accusations, but her response was that it was all through her free will. The charge of harm was dismissed, and Flores was free to go.
