Charges Dropped Against Meighan Brothers as Complainant Withdraws

Tyrone and Ellis Meighan two names frequently called with relation to criminal matters, saw the last of their pending charges dropped in court today. The Meighan brothers appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court charged with aggravated assault, to learn that the virtual complainant, Elroy Joes, did not wish to pursue the matter any further. The brothers and several others were charged with common assault back in April and later then charge was upgraded to aggravated assault. However, Jones said that he told police from the outset that he did not want to pursue the matter in court. With that the men were free to go. In October, the brothers were acquitted of charges of gang affiliation.
